Pumpkin Farm and Hayride

This afternoon we visited a local pumpkin farm and did a FUN hayride. Ivy's Birthday is this coming Wednesday. This year instead of Birthday parties, we are doing family activities to celebrate the birthday. Since Ivy's Birthday falls in the middle of the week, we did her event today. We invited our student from China as well as yesterday we received an e-mail from our friend's Mary and Elizabeth asking us if we wanted to do a pumpkin farm today. So, they joined us too. We started out with the haybale maze, then fed the animals, took lots of pumpkin pictures and then the HAYRIDE. The ride started with popcorn, then we got off the ride in the pumpkin patch to each pick out our pumpkin. Then we continued on the ride to the end where we got apple cider and a doughnut. It was such a fun afternoon!

It makes me smile to see the girls bundled up in their coats...we were swimming in the pool this weekend. No pumpkin farms in this part of the country & pumpkin patches don't open up her until mid Oct, otherwise the pumpkins would rot before Oct 31......

Sounds like a fun kick off to fall though....

Debby, it was a chilly day! The worst was the wind! It was blowing so strong and it was chilly. It is interesting to hear one part of the US swimming and warm while we are cold :)
